The webinar will cover the following topics:

Medicare Coverage of Physical and Occupational Therapy

  • Codes authorized to be billed through telehealth
  • The correct use of modifiers and place of service codes
  • Rules: Assistants, coinsurance, new/established patients, physician certification
  • Telehealth for home health patients
  • Telehealth for hospital and SNF patients
  • Use of telephone only or audio/visual communication with patient

Speaker: Zachary Edgar JD, LLM is the managing partner for Therapy Comply.  Zachary is healthcare attorney who specializes in state healthcare regulatory issues particularly for physical and occupational therapy practices.  Zachary has spent the last seven years as in-house counsel for a physical therapy management company where he handled a wide variety of healthcare legal issues including: federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse laws, state professional and facility licensing issues, HIPAA, employment issues, and Medicare and Medicaid compliance.  Zachary obtained his BA and JD from the University for Arizona and an LLM in healthcare law from Loyola University.
