Medicare Advantage Compliance Attestation Requirements and Therapy Services

Therapy Comply, a physical, occupational, and speech therapy education and compliance firm, will be presenting a live webinar: Medicare Advantage Compliance Requirements and Therapy Services on December 7th at 12:00 PM CT and again on December 8th at 12:00 PM ET.

Therapists who participate in MA Plans are required to complete Medicare compliance training every year for employees and new hires.  This course will detail specifically what is required, contain the required training, and discuss the differences between Medicare and MA therapy documentation and billing rules.

The webinar will be recorded.  All registrants will receive a copy of the slides and access to the recording.  Attendees will also receive sample compliance policies and procedures, and standards of conduct that are required in order to be compliant with MA plan rules.

The course will cover:

Medicare Advantage Compliance

  • The specific requirements for therapists that participate in Medicare Advantage
  • Required yearly training for employees and new hires
  • When attestation is required
  • Required policies and procedures
  • Standards of conduct

Medicare v. MA Plans

  • Overview of plans: UHC, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and Anthem
  • Total-time rule or the AMA rule
  • Use of CO/CQ modifiers and supervision requirements
  • Documentation requirements
  • Prior authorization of therapy services
