The Florida Physical Therapy Board recently released new regulations on the practice of dry needling. This course will cover those regulations in detail and discuss coverage and reimbursement of dry needling by payers.
Florida Rules
• Education and training requirements
• Patient safety and adverse event reporting
• Informed consent and documentation requirements
• The role of assistant and aides in the practice of dry needling
Reimbursement
• Correct coding for dry needling
• Coverage of dry needling under Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare
• Coverage of dry needling under major private insurance plans: BCBS, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Humana
• Requirements when billing the patient directly
Patient Safety
• Properly handle potential blood-borne pathogens and OSHA compliance
• Implement safety policies and procedures (handout) in your practice
PT: This webinar will qualify for 1 hour of PT and PTA CME credit in Florida. If you are licensed multiple states, you may be able to earn CE for the other states as well.
OT: This webinar will qualify for 1 hour of OT and OTA CME credit in Florida. While this course specifically addresses the PT rule it may be valuable for OTs in practice with PTs.
