Speaker: Ellen Zambo Anderson, PT, PhD, GCS. Dr. Anderson received a BS in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University, an MA in Movement Science from Columbia University, a PhD from Rutgers University and is a board certified geriatric clinical specialist. She is an Associate Professor and teaches Clinical Inquiry 1, Therapeutic Exercise, and Development Across the Life Span. Dr. Anderson's interest in exercise, wellness and complementary therapies has influenced her scholarly work having co-written and edited the book, Complementary Therapies for Physical Therapy: A Clinical-Decision Making Approach. She has spoken internationally on issues related physical activity and wellness for people with mental illness and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Anderson has also collaborated with Special Olympics New Jersey to develop Special Olympics Young Athletes, an inclusive sport-skill development program for young children, which has been implemented around the world.
